About Dennis Sanders

I grew up in Flint, Michigan which if you know about Flint, means I love cars and transportation.  I have a passion for writing which has led me to be a communications professional for nearly 20 years.  I'm also an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). From 2008 until 2013 I was the Associate Pastor at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Minneapolis.  Since 2013, I've been the Pastor at First Christian Church in Roseville, MN. I live in Minneapolis with my wonderful husband, Daniel.

Why the Blog?

From about 2002 to maybe 2015, I was an avid blogger on various topics ranging from religion to politics, LGBTQ issues, race, and racial reconciliation, and autism/ADHD/neurodiversity.

I moved on to writing on Medium and Substack, but I missed the immediacy of blogging.  I was also feeling the growing awareness of having a place to get my thoughts out that could be refined over time to appear on Medium or Substack or even somewhere else.

I thought about going back to my blog on WordPress, but it never felt right.  It felt a lot like that ship had past and I needed to start anew.  I tried using my Tumblr page, but Tumblr isn't really the best place for this either. So, this is what this blog is all about: a place for first drafts.  Some of these articles will graduate to other places, some will never move from this domain.

I might include some episodes of my podcast, Church and Main as well. 

So, welcome as I try to work out my thoughts on this here website!
